Description
The prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test analyses a sample of your blood to determine how much PSA is present. Your prostate produces the protein known as PSA. A gland in the male reproductive system is the prostate. It makes the fluid part of the semen. If you’ve had a PSA test to monitor prostate cancer or treatment, ask your provider what a high PSA level means. Your provider will usually look at the results of several tests over time to better understand your condition.
