Description
A smart full-body dengue blood test is done if you develop symptoms that could indicate dengue infection or have recently been to places known to be dengue hotspots. Common symptoms of dengue fever include a facial rash, sudden high fever (104 degrees Fahrenheit), joint and muscle pain, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, and inflamed glands.
Symptoms usually appear seven days after being bitten by a dengue-infected mosquito.
Generally, people infected with dengue show only mild symptoms, but this is the time to consult a doctor. If left unchecked, dengue symptoms can escalate to dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF), a life-threatening and severe form of dengue fever. A dengue blood test involves testing for the presence of the virus or antibodies made to fight it.
