An oral irrigator called a Waterpik, commonly referred to as a dental water jet or a water flosser, employs a stream of water to clean in between the teeth and along the gum line. To assist in eliminating plaque and food particles from the mouth, it is often used as a substitute for flossing or in addition to brushing.
